This place still exists?

PostPosted by Turnip The Boo » Sun Jan 10, 2016 9:51 pm

I came back here for curiosity, but I didn't expect this place to still be active.

So...erm. Hi.

You guys may or may not remember me, but back in the day I used to be an incredibly active member, but I eventually faded out from the place when the mergers happened. What happened from then and now is pretty much nothing of major importance. Basically, I lost interest in SMBX, focused more on School, but eventually a member brought me back to Cloud's Fourm where I did a bunch of graphical work for him. Currently I am doing stuff for his new forum, but while I was doing this I decided to get back into the picture to hopefully reignite by interest in SMBX.

So, here we are now.

Perhaps this time it will be different? Eh, don't count on it.

Welcome back!

First thing's first: although this site is technically still around, it doesn't get much activity anymore. is now the most popular SMBX forum by far, and this forum is pretty much only used when that forum goes down, as evidenced by these threads:

Second, none of the mergers ever happened; you can read more on this thread: ... 48&t=12801

Lastly, if you do plan on getting back into SMBX, there technically haven't been any updates since 1.3 because nobody has the source code. However, people from raocow's Talkhaus have been able to add Lua compatibility to SMBX (so you can code your own update) and are calling it "SMBX 2.0" (it's a global announcement on the forum I linked to). If you're interested in scripting, it can open up quite a few possibilities. You can even code your own API, if you're patient enough:
Would you like to become part of the longest, most innovative and most ambitious project in SMBX history? Then follow

If not, at least play the Sonic 3D Blast styled level, then let me know what you think.

I also made this Mode 7 tech demo for SMBX; check it out: ... =31&t=1302

Turnip? I think I remember you. I'm Clu37/kombat2, I think I remember you from way back when this place used to be the second most active SMBX forums next to Knux's.
SMBX's return is imminent.
