Welcome to the NEW Level of the Month! (No, we're not keeping the "NEW". It's cheese. It's temporary.)

The process for which we decide what is to become the level of the month is, as follows:
(All times below are considered for the purposes of this event to be in EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Please figure out your conversions appropriate to this, since the cut-off time for these periods will be very strict.)

The Nomination Phase occurs from the beginning of every month, 00:00 (12:00AM) of day 1, to 23:59 (12:59PM) of day 7.
The Discussion Phase occurs from 00:00 (12:00AM) of day 8 to 23:59 (12:59PM) of the final day of the month.
The Voting Phase occurs from 00:00 (12:00AM) of day 15 up until 23:59 (12:59PM) of the final day of the month.

The Nomination Phase and the Discussion phase will be in separate threads, with the Voting Phase incorporated into the Nomination Phase as it is unlocked for the voting phase period. This is because people will be voting by post rather than by a standard forum poll. If you don't like this method, let us know. However for the time being we feel that this is the best way to avoid abuse of the poll system.

To discuss each phase in further detail:
The Nomination Phase is where users offer what level they feel should be eligible to enter into the voting process.
ANY level not previously chosen as Level of the Month will be eligible for this process, EXCEPT those that have been posted after the month that is being selected for.
Example: Day 1 of May will begin the selection process for April's Level of the Month. Any levels posted in May will not be considered for the LOTM for April.
On 23:59 (12:59PM) of day 7, the nomination thread will be locked and all nominations or posts with edit stamps seen to be past that specific time will not be considered.
***You cannot nominate your own level.*** This is to prevent everyone just picking their own levels, obviously.
***ZERO nominations that are made OR edited after the due date will be accepted.*** This is to prevent staff arbitration over the cut-off period, avoiding potential suspicions of bias. If we don't have a clear-cut ending point and a lot of people post well after the deadline, inevitably some will not be accepted. Rather than leave acceptances in the hands of the staff, it is the user's responsibility to submit their nominations on time.
***Make your nomination clearly visible within your post.***

The Discussion Phase is a thread where users discuss, from what levels have been nominated, what they feel people should actually vote for. This is where you can effectively campaign for your level (or just the level you want people to vote for) to be seen, and played, and enjoyed, and elaborate on why it should be chosen over other levels. You may also feel free to use your signatures to bring attention to said level.
***Be civil.*** Try to focus on the positives about the level you want selected rather than the negatives of other specific levels.

The Voting Phase is where users will finally get to be able to vote for the level that were chosen during the Nomination Phase. Similar rules to the Nomination Phase apply:
***You cannot vote for your own level.*** This is to prevent everyone just picking their own levels, obviously.
***ZERO votes that are made OR edited after the due date will be accepted.*** This is to prevent staff arbitration over the cut-off period, avoiding potential suspicions of bias. If we don't have a clear-cut ending point and a lot of people post well after the deadline, inevitably some will not be accepted. Rather than leave acceptances in the hands of the staff, it is the user's responsibility to submit their votes on time.
***Post only your specific vote in this thread.***

Everyone is each allowed 2 nominations, and 1 vote per month. (No, they are not currency. They do not grow like savings. If you don't use them they are nulled at the turn of the month.)

Finally,
***Be a good sport.*** If your level loses, and you still genuinely think your level deserves this award, there will always be next month.

This forum will open on May 1st. Good luck, and have fun.
