Just to reiterate, this isn't a takeover of the Star Sanctuary project. That project belongs to Natsu and Mystogan. This would be for an episode of your creation and ideas.

I received your PM though. I will respond... soon. No guarantees as to when right now.

I don't remember if I specified before but if Mystogan is ok with letting anyone continue the Star Sanctuary I'm ok with it, I don't mind and I'm not sure if I'd be on the mood to get into it once I'm back. As for the LOTM idea you've all came to conclude, I think it's for the best to let the userbase vote and nominate, it'd be a good contrast to Joey's at least, or how I remember it to be, not like I visit it so often to have an accurate picture of it.

Just so y'all know, I'm not coming back yet, I just got interested on seeing how were things going here so I thought I might as well leave a post or two. I wish y'all luck with this, Magician do your best.

Well... the we don't know if Mystogan would be ok for it. As far i know he currently has some real life based problems (i think thats what he said on xtreme).
<m4sterbr0s>But yeah, some people on the forums need to mature more.

OOH, I know what can help bring activity: start an NSMBX community episode...on Joey's forum!

Joking aside, I can see that LotM didn't work out due to "lack of interest." Even if that wasn't the case, I still think that having all of the users vote on which level should be featured kinda defeats the purpose of having a featured level in the first place (since I'd think the point of featuring a level would be to advertise a level that the community may otherwise not be aware of, but if most people already know about it and have played it [because who'd vote for a level that he/she hasn't played or knows nothing about?], featuring the level won't really do much of anything regarding that). Even if you don't want to have a Level Judge group, you could still have the mods and admins vote on which level should be LotM, then feature it with an accurate description that has nothing to do with the level's graphics.

If not, at least play the Sonic 3D Blast styled level, then let me know what you think.

I also made this Mode 7 tech demo for SMBX; check it out: http://www.supermariobrosx.org/forums/v ... =31&t=1302

It's kind of immaterial now, but technically LOTM would have been an opportunity for users to feature levels themselves (be it theirs or someone else's), and users would have picked the best featured level. Even despite that, the LOTM would still be a marker of success, and a feature for people who hadn't visited the forum for a while, to look back on the months and see what made it to the top.
The point of it was more that it was a means for discussion and participation. All users would be invited to think more critically about levels and level design, and creators would have an opportunity to see what users in the community as a whole expect from a level via direct feedback. Placing importance on staff vote would have undone this.

And really, if I wanted to feature levels based on my own preferences I'd probably make a thread on supermariobrosx.org called "Magician's Favourite Levels"... assuming that was allowed. Given that DarkMatt made a thread containing his own personal reviews for community contest levels I don't see why not. Have you thought of doing something like that? I think you'd be really good at it.

Oh, I understand. Maybe you could get someone to make a banner for NSMBX, then put it in your signature on Joey's forum?

Hey: maybe you could revive LotM here, but also start a similar election on Joey's forum called something like "Magician's unofficial LotM election" and just casually mention that a separate LotM election is on NSMBX <--subtle NSMBX advertisement. It could have the same rules and everything [well, the forum would be different], but it would surely get more attention if only because Joey's forum gets more traffic. After all, I'm pretty sure that the only reason people had a "lack of interest" in LotM is because there wasn't much activity here to begin with and few people even noticed, so doing something similar on the popular forum would get more interest and discussion, and maybe get a few users to register here as well.

If you're lucky, the staff on Joey's forum might make it official; I remember seeing an LotM revival thread in the Level Judge Discussion sub-forum (though I don't think it got much support).

Another possible way to bring activity would be to affiliate with Joey's forum, but I'm not sure how complicated that would be.

Magician wrote:Have you thought of doing something like that? I think you'd be really good at it.

I doubt it would be well received, especially since there are those who don't like my reviews (and because I got fired from Level Judging recently). If I ever decided to review a level again, I'd just do it in the level's thread, then try to get my review approved (unless it's a Casual Level).

--EDIT--

By the way, whatever became of AquaAdminShelly's idea for an NSMBX community episode? If that fell through, I have my own idea (and if my idea is approved, I won't be inactive until the episode is complete).

Natsu said he wouldn't have a problem someone doing a community episode.

Ok so i asked Mystogan in irc and he's okay with it. So if you alright then Magician could i do it?

Of course i would do a other one just bc i don't wanna interrupt natsus stuff so far.

What kind of episodes do you each have in mind? Both of you can PM me; I'm still open to ideas.
