Block Swap Tab in SMBX

PostPosted by HealthyMario » Sun Jan 18, 2015 9:39 am

I'm wondering what does the block swap button do. Does it swap the positions they appear in the blocks tab or their functions (i.e hurts the player, player can stand on it etc)

I don't bother trying it cause I'm afraid it will mess up the program somehow <:P>

Block Swap? Where did you find that button? Mind sharing a screen?

The block swap, in the debug menu, is for swapping blocks in the level. If you had a bunch of block-1's (square wood SMB3 block) and wanted to replace it with block-5(SMB3 Question Block), you would put "1" in the In box, and put "5" in the out box, and it would switch every instance of that block in the level.

You can also use the Block Swap to use the unused block-183, a flat topped SMB3 Desert Block. If you notice, number 183 is not found in the Blocks Tab of the editor and the Block Swap is the only way to use it at all.
