Plot: Somewhere in the vast sea of the Internet, there's a website that can only be accessed at the stroke of midnight. Known as the Jigoku Tsushin (Hotline to Hell), rumor has it that if you post a grudge there, the Jigoku Shoujo will appear and drag whoever torments you into the inferno. Very little is known about the girl—all we know for sure is that she lives with her equally enigmatic grandmother, that three magical straw dolls accompany and serve her, and that whenever a posting on the Jigoku Tsushin moves her, she becomes the Jigoku Shoujo.

I have been watching this anime since Tuesday, and honestly I'm enjoying it so far. It repeats from time to time, the same process with different stories, but now it is starting to get interesting as more characters are introduced. I'm definitely liking it and I suggest you guys give it a watch.

I absolutely love Jigoku Shoujo's soundtrack, it has one of the best soundtrack I have ever heard, not the best though, that title is reserved to Strike the Blood. :/

But seriously, you definitely should check the soundtrack available on YouTube, I'll lend here one piece for you to listen, again, you definitely should give this anime a watch, it is way better than you think.

That track sounds really good, but quite honestly, I'm not that interested in this. I've got a huge PtW list already, so I only put something in if it seems REALLY interesting. This didn't catch my attention so far, and even if it did, it would take a year for me to watch it.

That's what really make people get away of this anime, it is precisely because it doesn't seem so interesting that they miss such a work of art. Nonetheless, if you don't feel like watching it right now I won't force you.

Finished watching the second season, and honestly, it got me even more than the first one. I just can't stop here, I need to watch more, I want to watch more. You guys should really give this anime a watch, I know I may bother you all saying this, but it really is worth your time.

I watched the first episode out of boredom and it didn't feel much interesting to me. The subject wasn't really original or handled that well. (I suppose you need more than 1 episode to do that) Hopefully this was quite realistic and not naive like what most anime tend to do. I might be thinking a bit too much but it seems like there's a morale behind all this (the whole process) but it looks quite twisted to me so I guess I'll have to watch more to understand. However I doubt that it willl keep me interested with that episodic nature. So when does that episodic formula ends? Depending on the number of episodes I might or not give it a chance.

If you refer to the whole "I hate him so I send him to the inferno" stuff you better give up, it won't end, it is after all the main topic of this anime. There are some good variations though that start on episode 11 or so. Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori did so two, and believe me, it takes some time to appreciate this anime, it took me too.

Sounds like Death Note did it better, however Death Note turns into a terrible game where Light just kills anyone who tries to get in his way or find him out. Starts as "you're a criminal so i'll kill you" and turns into "I am god, so fuck all you cops, die." Kinda thing.

Well, if you compare it with Death Note's system it has some differences. First Jigoku Shoujo does not kill, just sends somebody to the inferno. Also, it is possible for that person to come back if that person redeems for his sins full heartedly.
